Egg freezing has become an increasingly popular fertility treatment, but media reports like a recent BBC documentary on egg freezing have cast doubt on its effectiveness. A new study conducted by our sister clinic, London Women's Clinic (LWC), a leading centre for egg-freezing services provides transparent and consistent results regarding egg-freezing success rates, which are comparable to other fertility treatments like IVF.
Contrary to misconceptions, the study suggests that frozen eggs have similar viability to fresh ones and freezing/thawing processes have minimal impact. The findings also highlight the importance of factors such as age and ovarian reserve in predicting success.
Despite scepticism from some quarters, the article underscores the reliability of scientific evidence supporting egg freezing as a viable fertility option, especially for older women when they return to use their frozen eggs.
